FIG. 05 — CECIL CARTER, MBA — FOUNDER

Cecil Carter, MBA

FOUNDER · SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA

§ 01 — THE FOUNDER

"I watched people I love work their whole lives and still worry about housing. That never sat right with me."

Cecil Carter is a San Diego technologist and community builder. After years of watching rent consume the people around him — working people, veterans, retirees — he started asking a simple question: what would it take to make housing something a community owns together, instead of something each person rents alone, forever?

Conscious Living Collective is his answer: villages owned by a nonprofit, built by their members, affordable permanently, and designed to take in the people housing markets leave behind. He filed the paperwork, got the IRS determination in August 2025, and started gathering the first founders the same month.

§ 03 — WHAT WE BELIEVE

Housing is infrastructure, not inventory.

A home's job is to hold a life, not to appreciate. Nonprofit ownership takes it off the market forever.

Work counts as much as money.

Forty hours of skilled hands equals $500, every month, in every village we build.

Honesty over hype.

We publish what we've raised, what we've spent, and what we haven't done yet. No renderings of villages that don't exist.

Meet us before you decide anything.
